Old Hickory BBQ

My dad and I stopped by Old Hickory, allured in by the sweet scent of BBQ.  Because we were both very hungry, we each order the sliced mutton plate for about 9 dollars. This plate came with a large heaping serving of sliced mutton along with bread, fries, and baked beans; you can pick other side items, but these were my choices. The mutton was so good, and I was very dissapointed when the last morsel of meat dissapeared. I definitely like the BBQ here more than Moonlite and suggest you visit Old Hickory instead unless you want a buffet.

Long John Silvers!

This week I stopped at Long John Silvers late on a Saturday night on the way home for work. Not my first choice, but it was close and I was starving! After examining the menu and pondering my choices, I ordered a fish and more meal, consisting of two fish filets, fries, two hush puppies, and the little golden crispy things underneath the fish. The wait was pretty long because I came late and they cook to order at that time of night. The food tasted amazing, probably because I was famished; the fish was fried and the meat was great and the hush puppies were tasty too. Everything in the meal is fried, however, so you will definitely meet your grease quota for the day.

Chik Fil A

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending Chik Fil A. I ordered a club chicken sandwich. This is a grilled chicken breast with bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. This also came with an order of waffle fries. The fries are excellent, some of the best fast food fries I've had. The sandwich was also very good, with tender chicken and tasty bacon. The food came out very quickly, and the meal was overall very good. However, between me and my date, the meal costed about $13.50, a bit pricey for fast food. I do reccomend this restaurant based upon the food and service, however it carries a bit of a pricetag.

Real Hacienda!

Thursday night, Mom, Dad, and I visited Real Hacienda. The atmosphere is excellent, with a very authentic Mexican feel. I ordered a chicken chimichanga, a very tasty dish consisting of a flour tortiall stuffed with chicken and peppers, covered in melted, white cheese. I reccomend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Mexican cuisine.

Red Lobster

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of dining at Red Lobster with my father and grandmother. We made reservations, so we had no long waiting period, although there were many people in the queue there. The waitress was polite and quick, taking our order soon after we sat down and presenting us with the amazing cheesy, garlicky biscuits. I ordered the Captain's Feast, which consists of a lobster tail, a hearty portion of crab legs, scallops, and jumbo shrimp. All the seafood was succulent, but came with a large price tag of 20 dollars. Overall, this is a great seafood restaurant, but a bit on the pricey side.

New China Buffet

My friends and I decided to take a visit to New China on Frederica by Hobby Lobby. Walking in, the aroma of Chinese food overwhelms your senses. The price for the buffet was about $7 dollars, not bad for the amount of food available. We were lucky enough to arrive at the restaurant around the time they put out fresh new servings of meat and vegetables; there was a noticeable difference in the quality of fresh and older food. The different varieties of chicken including honey chicken and General Tsu chicken were excellent, as was the beef shishkabobs and other various vegetables. Stay away from the pizza and deserts, though; they weren't the greatest. Oh well, who goes to a Chinese buffet for pizza and deserts, anyways? In conclusion, if you're very hungry and looking for a good variety of food for a reasonable price, I recommend New China buffet to you.

Applebee's!

On Tuesday, for my Grandmother's birthday, my parents took my grandparents and me out to eat at our friendly neighborhood Applebee's. We had no wait and were seated immediately.  The server was very attentive and polite. For an appetizer we order a plate of nachos with jalapenos. These were excellent, a large helping with a hearty serving of meat, cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, salsa, and chips; I would recommend these. I ordered the Applebee's riblets basket, which included fries and coleslaw for $11. The food took a bit longer to come out than I expected, but it was worth the wait. The meat was tender, the sauce was excellent, and the fries were perfectly seasoned. The portion size was about what you would expect for the price. There is a special on Tuesdays for 99 cent margaritas, which my grandparents order and proclaimed to be excellent, but I wouldn't know about that. Overall, this was a great experience for a reasonable price.
